Attempt At Understanding Russian Women.

A few weeks ago I started a small fire fight. By making the statement that I was the prize and signing off with ( Good Hunting ).
Now granted I have only spent 15 days in Belarus and am by no means an expert. As I get ready for my next trip in two weeks. I am pondering many thoughts.
Why would so many beautiful intelligent young ladies be so seeming interested in a 40 year old man.
While I was in Gomel Belarus I tried to explain the American TV commercials where everything is in black and white except one person who is in color. I felt like that person everything was dark and drab and I stood out. People would turn there heads as I walked down the street. Now granted it was most likely because I sound like Forest Gump. But I ask the ladies, do I really look different. And they said yes you look like an American.
Now I did not think that I looked that different than the other people I saw. Yes I dresses a little better. But I saw many men in the downtown area in nice suits. The ladies told me, you walk different you smile and make eye contact. The simple act of opening a door was received with overwhelming gratitude.
I was talking to a friend of mine who lives in Green Bay the other day. He is in his mid 30's. We were discussing the fact that as we get older it seems that more young ladies like us. We concluded that the reason was most young men are pigs and have no idea how to treat a lady.
Many ladies in Belarus have never been treated gently and tenderly. I had the words ( you are so tender ) said to me numinous times by many ladies. And this was not a bedroom statement. My lady told me the other day that she was so happy that I keep my promise's. This stemmed from the fact that I telephone when promised. She said ( our men"never" keep their promise's ).
The fact is life is very harsh for many of these ladies. They walk to a bus stop get on to a packed bus for their ride to work. After work back to the bus a quick stop to pick up the days food and back home. Forget about going out to a restaurant some of the ladies had not been to a restaurant in years. If you find this hard to believe consider this if you make $50 a month. And dinner for two is $10. How often would you go out?
At home forget about a vacuum, microwave, dishwasher, clothes washer or dryer. No pre cooked food every thing is prepared from scratch.
The following is an excerpt from a December 3 ,2000 article printed by Night Ridder with photos from the New York Times. Health crisis fells Russians. (Diseases and social problems are killing thousands daily). A number of diseases and social problems- from tuberculosis, AIDS, smoking and alcoholism. Are killing thousands daily and could cut the population by a third midway in to the next century.
Russian's male life expectancy 59.8 years about the same as Pakistan's. Health experts consider drinking and smoking two of Russia's biggest scourges. 700 men die prematurely each day from cardiovascular diseases and cancer caused by tobacco. An estimated 82 men - many of them young die each day from excessive alcohol consumption. The birth rate has flattened, in large part because many women can't afford to have children.
So with this as a backdrop to your life, we are the prize. And we men must understand that these ladies are also diamonds. Treat them with love and respect.
